Café Choir in Howden – a fun, relaxed, social sing for everyone!
Café Choir in Howden is the morning side of So Choir! — brilliant songs, live music, big three-part harmonies and a lovely bunch of people to sing them with.
Absolutely no singing ability is needed. No auditions. No sheet music. No solos. No awkwardness. No pressure. Even if you feel like you can’t sing or don’t like the sound of your own voice (who does?!), you’re TOTALLY welcome along.
What is Café Choir?
Café Choir takes the fun, social, live-music spirit of So Choir! and brings it into the morning — with freshly ground coffee, Yorkshire Tea (what else?!) and soft drinks close at hand.
Here’s how it works: rock up, grab yourself a drink, say hello and we’ll give you the lyrics. You can choose to join the highs, mids or lows and, bit by bit, we’ll build a brilliant song together in three-part harmony.
There are loads of laughs and chats along the way, plus opportunities to get involved in our bigger So Choir! singalong events and socials if you fancy them.
Howden Shire Hall | Café Choir Howden Venue

Howden Shire Hall is a superb building in the Market Place at the centre of Howden. It’s a well-known arts hub hosting regular live music from home-grown and international acts, as well as theatre, live comedy and cinema events.
The Lower Hall at Howden Shire Hall is a bright, airy space on the ground floor, with easy step-free access. And every Tuesday morning, it’s home to Café Choir Howden!
And sometimes we make a LOT more noise…
Café Choir Howden is part of the wider So Choir! family — which means there are plenty of opportunities to get involved in our bigger singalong adventures too.
Earlier in 2026, just down the road at Selby Town Hall, 130 of us came together to record a huge three-part harmony version of Shed Seven’s Chasing Rainbows. Plenty of Café Choir faces were in amongst them — and the resulting video was even shared by Shed Seven themselves!
